PAFOA

Background on PAFOA shoots at PMSC.
- Began in 2/07 with just 1 PMSC member and 3 PAFOA members
- Shoots have been held 2nd Sunday of the month since then.
- Average 60-70 shooters/month. High of 120 shooters in September 07’. Ages
10-80!
- 3 shooting stations for shotgun, rifle, and pistol shooters. Something for
everyone. 12 certified range officers.
- No cost to members. $5 per person for guests.

The plan for the 3/9 and 9/14 shoots
- The PAFOA shoot will be held as usual with breakfast at 8:00. safety briefing
at 9:00, and shooting to begin at 9:30.
- At 1:00 PM, the PAFOA shoot closes and the ranges are cold.
- After cleanup, the full-auto demo will be set up in the lower IPSC bays
- At 1:30 PM the full-auto demonstration will commence.
The rules
- All NRA, CMP, and USPSA rules will be adhered to for the full-auto
demonstration
- Any PMSC member may bring his or her full-auto firearms and shoot them at the
demonstration
- At the permission of the guns owner, any PMSC member may shoot other members’
full-auto firearms.
- No non-member guns or shooters. Membership cards will be checked.
- As the shoot is open to members only, there will be no cost.
- At 3:30 (or when the ammo runs out), the demonstration will be over. Shooters
and spectators will return the range to its original condition prior to leaving
the area.
The safety
- There will be at least 6 NRA certified Range Safety Officers on hand for the
demonstration. In addition, there will be at least another 6 USPSA certified
RO’s.
- The full-auto demonstration will be a cold range with no handling of firearms
except by the shooter on deck. There will be a range officer to the shooter’s
right and left. Much like IPSC or CMP, the shooters will be told when to shoot
and when to cease fire. The remainder of the RO’s will be positioned in front of
the spectators to insure that the people stay well behind the shooter in the
safe area.
- A “safe table” will be provided off to the side of the shooting area, so that
shooters can inspect and ready their firearms prior to moving to the shooting
area. As in IPSC competition, no ammunition of any type is permitted at the safe
table.
