A poker handMonte Carlo Night

------------------------------------------------------------------

Come out and play some Texas Hold’em with some great guys from the club.  This is not serious Las Vegas poker, but it is a lot of fun.  Monte Carlo night starts at 8:00 PM and runs until anywhere from 10:00 to 12:00.  Folks bring food, beer, and snacks to share with the group.  It is a great time and a great way to get to know the guys at the club.

Playing Poker at Egan's Saloon in Burns, Oregon, 1882

Come out early!  We shoot trap before cards from 6:30-7:30.

Monte Carlo night will be held on these Fridays in 2009: the third Friday of the month, from 8PM-10PM.

Thank you to the folks at Harney County Historical Society to identify a picture we had found on the internet quite a few years ago.

"We were recently contacted by the relatives of one of the photos used on your web page.
They asked us "How in the heck did our poker playing relatives end up on a web page for a sportsman club in Pennsylvania?"
The photograph of cowboys sitting around and playing poker was taken at the Egan Saloon in Egan, Oregon in 1882. It was about I880 that a post office was established at Egan (named for Chief Egan, a Paiute Indian) in Mons Curry store and saloon. In I929
the town of Hines elbowed out ghost town of Egan but a tavern still sits on the site of the
original saloon in Egan.
While the Historical Society does not have copyright on the picture we would like to see your website give credit to our historic past and to the Harney County Historical Society."
