Poofa Shoots – Free To Members
Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun
What
is Poofa? Well, a Poofa shoot (as it is known at PMSC), or
a PAFOA Group Shoot as we call it, is one of the best
shooting events held regularly at PMSC. PAFOA is the Pennsylvania
Firearm Owners Association (www.pafoa.org),
which is an online message board for gun owners to get together and share
knowledge and opinions. In early 2007, the members of PAFOA realized that there
were quite a few PMSC members using the forum, and decided
to organize a “group shoot”.
The first shoot was so much fun, that we just keep doing it every
month.
The shoots are always held on the second Sunday of the month (12 months a
year) and are held at the upper pistol bays at PMSC.
The shoots begin
at 8:00 AM with breakfast,
coffee, and good
conversation among old and
new
friends.
Sometimes, we’ll
cook eggs and toast. Sometimes we’ll have just donuts and coffee. There is
always something to eat! At 9:00, there is a safety briefing and by 9:30,
the shooting begins. We usually set up the “shoot house”
for pistol and rifle shooting, the “Easter Island bay” for pistol, rifle, and
shotgun shooting, and the “main range” for plinking of all sorts. Sometimes we
will add a Texas star or a round of trap to spice things up. There are
a minimum of two certified Range
Safety Officers at each shooting station. This is a very safe group of shooters.

Poofa
shoots are held the
second Sunday of every month
These
shoots are free to PMSC club members and cost just $5 for guests. Come on out
for some of the best fun you can have at PMSC!
