6 Stages of Knock-Down Steel – 150 Rounds

I just wanted to let you know that the Pitcairn-Monroeville Sportsmen’s Club will be hosting the 5th Annual Steel City Championship on Sunday June 5th, 2011.  There will be 6 stages of knockdown steel, min. 150 rounds, with Texas stars, speed racks, fireman’s targets, pepper poppers, classic poppers and steel plates.  We will be accepting the first 120 entry applications.  Prize $ based on number of competitors in a division.  For additional information – previous  results, entry applications - click on the following link: http://www.pmsconline.com/calendar_events/2011/steel-shoot.htm or contact me at 412-968-0866 or e-mail me at pghshooter@gmail.com

Match Rules

  1. A maximum velocity of 1,350 fps.
  2. Stock auto division:  No more than 10 rounds in a gun to start and no more than 10 rounds in a magazine at any time.
  3. Start position:  Gun is loaded, safety in on and either holstered or in hand with the muzzle touching the table.
  4. Upon start signal, engage targets while remaining directly behind the table.  Elapsed time will stop on the last shot fired.
  5. Reloads may be made from either the belt or from the table – shooter’s choice.
  6. Any ammo - magazine, moon clip, round(s), etc. – that hits the ground is dead and cannot be used during the run by the shooter.
  7. During a run, magazines may not be reloaded.
  8. Targets must fall to score.  Targets left standing will incur a 5 second/target penalty.  Targets will be calibrated to fall with a 125 power factor.
  9. Reshoots will only be allowed due to range equipment failure.
  10. There will be designated gun handling areas.  No ammo is allowed in these areas.  Any handling of guns outside of these areas will result in a disqualification.
  11. Any unsafe gun handling will result in a match disqualification, i.e., any shots hitting the table, accidental discharges while reloading, rounds over the berm, breaking the 180 degree plane, sweeping oneself with a loaded firearm, etc. will result in an automatic disqualification.
