If  target shooting for bull eyes is classical music

   Then,

Practical shooting is ROCK  &  ROLL

International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA)

IMAGINE.............................................................................................................................

The stage is set. The alarm sounds, you burst through the door, drawing your gun from your hip. To your right is the first set of three - half hidden behind two “NO SHOOT” - cardboard targets. Quickly, you examine your site picture and carefully " double tap" shoot each target. While turning toward center, you engage target 4 and target 5, double tapping both. Moving fifteen feet to your left and " reloading on the fly", you duck low to shoot through a 55gal drum. With each shot the concussion of the report moves your hair as you engage three steal poppers that fall at each hit!

WOW, this is action shooting!

IPDA shooting is very exciting.

It offers action not found in traditional target shooting. The targets are big, guns are powerful, and just about anything can happen. Each stage is a chess game for the shooter to figure out how best for him or her to shoot at their ability. Practical shooters engage targets from contact to fifty yards and do it as fast as their bodies can move.

IPDA shooting enjoys a tremendous safety record.

Like all shooting sports there are rules that must be obeyed. You will build confidence in your ability to handle your firearm safely. The rules are easily learned at our IPDA practice every Thursday night at the indoor range till April when we move to our outdoor range.

Who can shoot IPDA?

You must have some firearms experience,  there is no need to be an expert. No matter how much experience you possess, All new shooters are coached through their first few shoots . Each shooter will learn what is safe gun handling is all about. Our practice is informal and relaxed. It’s fun and above all, it is safe.

  It’s safe, fun and it’s exciting !
