Steel Paradise Range Closed

The Board of Directors has closed the Steel Paradise Range until further notice. We are working on a range problem. We are sorry for any inconvenience but the club has several other ranges available. We will reopen the Paradise Range as soon as problem is corrected.

Skeet field voice-release system

The club has purchased a personal voice-release system for members to use on the skeet field. This system allows you to shoot skeet by yourself without needing someone else there to push buttons and throw targets for you. Members wishing to use this system must contact Kenny Riddile at to arrange an orientation.

Babes with Bullets

Since 2004 the Babes with Bullets firearms academy, sponsored by Smith & Wesson, has been traveling around the US teaching novice women about firearms. With over 3,400 camper alum the 3-day “immersion” program is making its first appearance in the PA area! The host range is the Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen’s Club, Range days are Saturday, September 13th to Monday, September 15th. The campers arrive to the host lodging, a large vacation lodge taken over by our program, on Friday early evening of September 12th.

The camp is led by Kay Miculek, a several time World Handgun Champion and 14 time National Multi-Gun USPSA Champion. She leads an all-female instructor staff of world and national shooting sports champions to train women in a way that is empowering instead of overpowering! You can see Kay and the other instructors in action at the Outdoor Channel webisodes taped on-site at camps at Co-Founder and Camp Director, Deb Ferns, featured in the webisodes is also available to answer any questions at .

Deb Ferns (Camp Director), Lisa Munson (Senior Instructor, Kay Miculek (Head Instructor)

Cost of the three day program is $750 and includes the instructor fees, range fees, housing, and lunch at the range each day. The cost also includes free use of the camps S&W 9mm M&P handguns (.22 caliber M&P’s also available) along with use of belts, holsters, magazine holders, etc. This is a unique opportunity to “try before you buy” especially suited for the woman who does not own her own equipment and is still a bit timid about their first step into firearms training. If a camper elects not to stay at the local lodging, which we recommend for the camp camaraderie, there is a $50 discount off the $750 fee. Ammo is not included, typically 500 to 600 rounds of 9mm is used and ammo is sold at a discount at each camp; estimate $20 per 50 rounds. Only factory ammo, no reloads, can be used if campers are running the camp handguns.

There are slots still available for this PA camp, please register at

Trap Team

Participation on the Trap Team in the Tuesday night league has been great this year. From not having enough people show up to compete last year to 21 shooters this year, we climbed our way up from fourth to third place for the first time in seven years. Many of our team had not shot in a league before and some are quite new to trap. With a little more practice we can aim higher next year. The post-season shoot will be at PMSC on September 15, 2013 with sign up from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is league members only, but you can come out to see some good shooting and cheer us on. Food will be available. We welcome new additions to the trap team for next year.
