Skeet Practice schedule change

Skeet practice has been moved from Thursday evenings to Saturday mornings at 10am (same time as trap practice). Of course, members are still free to shoot skeet whenever they like after having the skeet orientation. Saturday morning skeet will continue to be open to the public, just as Thursday evening skeet was.

Winter Trap

Trap practice continues through the winter. Practice will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with the exception of December 24, 2016 and when the temperature is below 25° or steady rain is falling. For those practicing trap on their own, the trap machines require time to warm up prior to use. Depending on the temperature, this can be 15 to 30 minutes before they work properly.

Trap orientations will still be available. Please contact jgmno.1@gmail.com if interested.

Membership

Membership will be back open in September and anyone who has already started the process will just need to bring payment in to complete paperwork and stand before membership at the September 7th general meeting (starting at 5:30).

Weekly skeet night

It's starting to warm up and the daylight is lasting longer, so I wanted to remind everyone that skeet night is every Thursday night 6pm-9pm on the skeet field (weather permitting). You'll need your own shells (#7.5 shot or smaller), or 12ga shells can be purchased from the club for $7.50 per box. If you don't have your own shotgun, there's usually someone willing to share a gun with a first-timer, and the club also has 12ga shotguns and 20ga youth shotguns available. A limited supply of free 20ga shells is also available for youth shooters. The cost is $3.50 per round of skeet (25 targets). Also, if you're a member who would like to be able to shoot skeet at your convenience, come on a Thursday night, and I will give you a short orientation on the operation of the skeet field. For more information, contact Kenny Riddile at kfriddile@gmail.com
