Trap at PMSC

Trap practice is Saturday with set up at 9:30 and shooting starting at 10:00. Practice continues until everyone decides they have enough. Trap practice is open to the public and is held year round when weather permits (25 degrees and rising at 10:00 and no steady rain). All levels of shooters are welcome from people who have never shot to experienced shooters. All you need is a shotgun – 12, 16, or 20 gauge with a modified or tighter choke and #7.5 or #8 shot shells. If you don’t have a shotgun, bring some 12 gauge #7.5 or #8 shot factory target shells and the club or someone will let you use one. Practice remains at $3.50 per round of 25. The trap program is all volunteer so we welcome any help. Work party credit is available for some trap field maintenance and event help.

Pitcairn-Monroeville is one of the few clubs that allow members to use the trap and skeet fields at their convenience after having an orientation on the machines and payment procedures. If you would like to take the orientation, please email Jack Murray ( Orientation includes shooting at least one round of trap and can be done on other Saturdays by special arrangement. If you have trouble with one of the traps please email me at or Rick Singer at
